The service
Howff helps you discover bars, restaurants and events for a night out. It is operated by Howff Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 17351482) with its registered office at 71-75 Shelton Street, Covent Garden, London, WC2H 9JQ. By using Howff you agree to these terms.
Eligibility
Howff is about bars and nightlife, so you must be at least 18 years old (or the age of legal majority where you live, if higher) to create an account or join a night as a guest. Please drink responsibly. Venue suggestions are not encouragement to drink.
Accuracy of information
Venue details (opening hours, whether a place is open, prices, events) come from third-party and open data and can be out of date or wrong. We show our best estimate and flag uncertainty, but you should confirm with the venue before relying on it. We provide the service "as is" without warranties to the extent permitted by law.
Acceptable use
Don't abuse, overload, scrape, or attempt to break the service, and don't use it for any unlawful purpose. We apply rate limits and may suspend access that threatens the service or other users.
Your content & community rules
Things you add to Howff (reviews, notes, photos, list names, your username and venue reports) must be yours to share and lawful. Don't post content that is illegal, hateful, harassing, pornographic, violent, or that exposes someone's private information; don't impersonate people or venues; don't post spam or adverts; and keep venue reports (like "this place has closed") honest. You keep ownership of what you post, and you give us the licence we need to host and show it to run the service (to your friends where you've shared it, and publicly for public lists and venue photos). We may remove content or suspend accounts that break these rules. You can report any content or person in-app (the report options on photos, reviews and venues, and “Report” on user profiles and group plans) or via the feedback form; we review reports promptly and remove illegal content when we become aware of it. You can also block anyone: blocking removes any friendship between you and stops requests and invites in both directions.
Subscriptions & payment
Some features may require a paid subscription. Prices are shown inclusive of any applicable VAT or sales tax for your country. Payments are handled by our payment provider or, where you buy through the Apple App Store or Google Play, by that store, which may act as the seller of record and collect and remit local tax. You can cancel a recurring subscription at any time and it will not renew after the current billing period. Your statutory consumer rights, including any cancellation or refund rights under the law of your country of residence, are unaffected. If you bought through the Apple App Store or Google Play, refunds are handled by that store under its own policies. If you bought directly from us, you can cancel within 14 days of purchase for a refund; if you have used the paid features in that time we may deduct a fair amount for the service already provided. Affiliate links
Where Howff links out to tickets, bookings or experiences using affiliate links, we may earn a commission if you buy after following one, at no extra cost to you. We only earn on a purchase you choose to make, and it never affects how venues are ranked.
Liability
To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for decisions you make based on venue information. Nothing here excludes liability that cannot be excluded by law.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts there have jurisdiction. If you are a consumer resident elsewhere, this does not deprive you of the mandatory protections of the country where you live.
Changes
We may update these terms; we'll change the date above and, for material changes, tell you in-app.
